Chinese New Year

Happy new lunar year! We had many interesting activities in Nursery, ready to deepen our knowledge of Chinese culture and traditions at the same time we improved our fine motor skills and had fun!

We learnt about the zodiac and its animals. Most of us were born on the year of the Monkey year, but we also had some friends born on the Rooster and even in the year of the Dog, too!

We made traditional Chinese lanterns, practising our cutting skills and decorating them with stickers and glitter.

During our inspired playtime, we made our own oriental-inspired dish. We used tongues to put the noodles into the bowls and to pick the vegetables we wanted to add to them. Some of us were very brave and even tried with chopsticks!

In the afternoon, we had our Chinese new year parade around the school. Carefully respecting all the covid safeguarding procedures in regards to safety, we paraded on the school corridors while our friends from other bubbles clapped from their classes, carefully keeping our social distance. It was really fun!
