Home Learning 2020

"Well done with managing all the home learning...   I’m really pleased with high quality provision of tasks for our young people. Thank you."

Since schools closure on 20 March 2020 we have been providing home learning for all our pupils:

Home Learning

The Department for Education directed schools to provide support so that young people’s education could continue during the period of school closures. As a Rights Respecting School we wanted to ensure that our children receive the best education they can receive during this difficult and unique period in their school careers (Article 28).

We have taken the decision to provide a daily timetable for children as this was advice given to schools after evidence shows that routine is important for children’s well-being. These can be found on the individual class pages

Teachers are  providing videos of the teaching of new concepts where needed which should enable the children to complete the work independently. Weekly Miss Fermor and Mrs Mitchell set the children a challenge, please view the school website page - 2020 a year of Change

As a school we have been overwhelmed by the children’s engagement with their learning and want to thank parents for enabling this. We have really enjoyed seeing pictures and videos of the children’s learning so please keep sending them in.We have had some amazing feedback from parents and wanted to share this with you:

I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know how impressed we are with Seal's remote learning approach.  You were so swift and effective in your initial response and the post-Easter home learning is even more thoughtful.  Our child is coping very well (loves / needs a schedule!) and is particularly enjoying this week's window challenge. What a great way to pause and explore beauty the every day.

We really enjoy looking at other children's work. And to see you on YouTube is another bonus! Thank you again for your hard work.

Another successful day of homeschooling!

Respect to all the teachers for their hard work!

Our child thoroughly enjoyed doing this task!!

I must say I’m so impressed with the structure of learning you provide. At the start of last week he wouldn’t have been able to instruct in such a clear way but all the related tasks in the schedule have made an impact and given him the necessary skills. We’re all enjoying the home learning a lot!

I'm really impressed with the school work being set.

I just wanted to say thanks to you, you have renewed our faith in teachers again and it’s your amazing skills and super powers that’s given my son the drive to do well. I only follow what you set but I do believe what we as parents put in we get back 10 fold and I do this for both my boys. They are our children and supporting them as best we can is our job and we enjoy it.
