L.O. To recall the subtraction facts from 20 (remembering)

Watch the video and play the game: Subtraction facts (2) - YouTube

You will need your cherry models you created from Monday’s lesson and something to cover up some of the numbers. This could be counters, little toys, bits of paper or card (as long as you can’t see the number written underneath) or anything else you can find that will cover up the number!

Have fun!

10:00-10:30

Do a chosen mindfulness activity e.g. drawing, going for a walk (if you can), dancing, listening to music and deep breathing etc.

SC1 – I can distinguish between the second, minute and hour hand.

SC2 – I can explain the minute hand scale.

SC3 – I can explain and label ‘quarter past’ ‘half past’ ‘quarter to’ and ‘o-clock’

Watch today’s video tutorial:

Task – create a clock on a paper plate or circular piece of paper. Create a minute hand and go around the clock reciting 5 past, 10 past, quarter past, 20 past etc.

Then test a parent – put the minute hand at different places on the clock. Are they getting it right? If not, make sure you correct them!

Email your teacher to explain how you found each of the success criteria & the task. Let us know how you found it and if there is anything you found difficult. That way, we’ll know what you need more practise with.

English

LO: To know what a possessive apostrophe is (remembering/ understanding)

SC1: I can explain what a possessive apostrophe is

SC2: I can list examples where a possessive apostrophe has been used

SC3: I can identify where a possessive apostrophe has been used

Please watch the video tutorial and then complete the tasks:

For the lesson you will need:

The link to the youtube video on the possessive apostrophe

A copy of the story - “The way back home” which can be found on the class home learning page for today

Something a little easier...

Use my powerpoint to help you with the writing. You may use some of my ideas if you like to help you.

Re-write the part of the story writing only 2 sentences and only using 1 word with an apostrophe in.

Something a little harder...

Use a range of conjunctions in your piece of writing when you re-write the start of the story.

Use adventurous vocabulary in your piece of writing, when you re-write the start of the story.

Check you have used punctuation correctly in all parts of your English lesson today.

Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes

L.O. To understand why animals are different to humans (understanding)

SC1: I can research different animals body parts

SC2: I can compare and contrast them to humans

SC3: I can explain why they are different/similar to humans

Use the body part that you have become an expert in.

Task 1 – research between 3-5 different animals and collect photos of the same body part.

My example:

Next: compare and contrast the nose of the animals to a human’s nose.

See the example below:

When you are finding differences – try to research why that is and include this on your journal page.

Challenge: can you explain and justify which animal has the best one on

your page?

Something easier?

Make a list of interesting facts about 1 animal’s body part e.g.

A dolphin does not have a nose.

A dolphin cannot smell.

A dolphin has one nostril but it is their blowhole at the top of their head.

A dolphin makes up for their poor sense of smell with their strong taste.
