Questions

  1. In the first paragraph can you explain what time of day it is? 

  2. On page 78, where it says George’s eyes shone. What is the author trying to say about George’s thoughts and feelings? Can you explain your answer.

  3. Can you infer as to why the children tried not to make a sound when they were going down the stairs? 

  4. Can you infer the children’s thoughts and feelings when they approached the wreck in the boat. 

  5. Can you find the phrase that tells you George is very good at climbing? 

  6. Can you predict what will happen next? Use the text to support your answer.

SC1: I can identify what is being said
SC2: I can use speech marks to indicate speech
SC3: I can punctuate my speech correctly

Same again today we are going to practise our use of speech within our stories. If you are unsure of how to do this then please look again at the video helping you below. 

 

 

 

 

I would like you to continue the story using speech. I have attached a checklist and a guided write from me to help you as much as you can. Use it for ideas and magpie things if you would like, but do not take too much. Use it for inspiration.

After, I would like you to spend time reading your own book. Do it in your bedroom, in the garden or even in the kitchen sink. So long as you are reading.
