English LO: To be able to understand language which helps to persuade. (UNDERSTAND) SC1: I can identify and use conjunctions to link ideas. SC2: I can recognise and use emotive language. SC3: I can make language choices which appeal to the target audience. Throughout today’s, and the following English lesson, you’ll notice different levels of challenge. It’s important that you select the challenge most suited to you. Please watch my tutorial first as I’ll describe all of the tasks. As you tackle the tasks independently, you’ll be able to refer back to my video if you need to.
Task one- For this task, there are different levels of challenge. Within the PowerPoint is a persuasive writing example. I’d like you to identify the learnt features within the piece. Task two- Supporting resource- 29.01.2021 English Conjunction word mat Using the different levels of challenge, you’ll create sentences to describe your dragon using a variety of conjunctions. Task 3- Supporting resource- 29.01.2021 English Emotive language word mat First, you’ll recognise how language can be used to make you feel certain emotions. Next, choosing a different challenge level, you’ll recognise emotions you’d like your audience to feel and words that you can use to provoke these feelings. These will need to be added to your plan. |

Maths LO: To be able to use my knowledge of time For this lesson we are going to use our knowledge of telling the time to work out how to add time. This is an important skill as it is something that you will use throughout your whole life. If you want to get somewhere and you have to be there by a particular time and you know how long the journey takes then you need to work out what time you need to leave. That was very wordy, simply. I am cooking a pizza and it takes 24 minutes, the time is 6:35 when do I need to get it out of the oven?
I have uploaded a video to help you understand how to set this out, as well as a couple of worked examples depending on the chilli challenge. Worked example for Chilli challenge 1 and 2 Worked example for Chilli challenge 3 |
