 Getting ready for learning – if you are feeling energetic try Joe Wicks!

If you are feeling calmer, do some shoulder shrugs and hand presses on a table and against a wall.

Getting ready for maths

R – Count backwards from 20 – first say the numbers then have a go at writing them.

C and O: Jack Hartman count in 5’s and then count in 5’s and practise your 5 times table.

3 D shapes

Well, I don’t know about you but it was really hard to make a cube out of Lego.  I battled to get all the faces the same.  It was also hard to find cubes in my house.  All the sides need to be the same size and the 2-D shape on the surface should be a square.


Cuboids today!


SC1) I can define what a cuboid is.

SC2) I can find cuboids in a real-life setting.

SC3) I can identify 2-D shapes on the surface of 3-D shapes.


I found these in my house: if you look at the face of a cuboid you will recognise a 2-D shape you already know – a rectangle.  Look out for the 2 long sides and the 2 short sides.

Next make a cuboid with Lego.

Has your Lego cuboid 6 faces?  Can you show the faces to someone?

  Get 6 pieces of paper.  Write your words 3 times on the paper and then ask an adult to spread them around the room.  When they say the word, walk quickly to find it and give it to your adult.

Reading, talking and writing.


SC1) I can use sentences of different forms.

SC2) I can ask a question using a fact I know.

SC3) I can use a question mark at the end of my sentence.


Yum! Dinner time – meal worms are a favourite food of robins.



This Robin is gathering moss to build her nest.  She will also use grass and dead leaves.  Robins line the inside of their nests with hair or wool.
