LO: To be able to understand the role different parts of a plant have
SC1: I can identify the different parts of a plant
SC2: I can identify the parts of a flower
SC3: I can understand their function

For the challenge this week we are going to learn about plants, and then plant one of them so we can grow them ourselves. We are going to need to know how they survive and what they need to be able to do this. This will mean that we will be able to take care of the plants.

For today’s lesson we are going to be learning about the properties of a plant. What is a plant made up of, and what function do these parts have?

Have a look at these couple of videos below. For the activity I would like you to create a diagram of a plant with the parts labelled and their function. I have created my own and it is shown below.

I would like you to create a diagram of a plant and the flower labelled with the functions of each part. I have attached an example below as an exemplar.

2:00- 2:30

Exercise – e.g. mindfulness yoga, fresh air in the garden, run up and down the stairs seeing if you can get faster every time!

We are continuing on with our class reader in the afternoons.I have attached the pdf of the book as well as the link to hear Mr Forster read.

After, I would like you to spend time reading your own book. Do it in your bedroom, in the garden or even in the kitchen sink. So long as you are reading.
