LO: To be able to use my knowledge to answer questions
SC1: I can understand what the questions is asking me to do
SC2: I can identify how to answer the questions
SC3: I can use my knowledge of fractions

This week we are going to use our knowledge of fractions to answer some word problems.

The difficult part of this and any word problems is trying to understand the word problem rather than the use of fractions. I have found a website that has some keywords that you can use to help figure out what the question is asking,

https://www.purplemath.com/modules/translat.htm

I have gone through a couple of examples for you, with the help of the keywords, so you can see how to work through the problems.

I have attached the Chilli challenges below, good luck. Remember you can always change the chilli challenge if it too hard or easy.

12:15- 1:15

Lunch

1:15 - 2:00

I would like you to spend a little time on your well being. Through this time we are having to spend a lot of time with the same people and this can be challenging. The BBC have released a lesson on the importance of teamwork. I think this could be really helpful to households, as we are having to pull together to maintain a calm and happy environment.

See how you get on and I hope it helps. Good luck

Exercise – e.g. mindfulness yoga, fresh air in the garden, run up and down the stairs seeing if you can get faster every time!

2:30-3:15

We are continuing on with our class reader in the afternoons. However, this week Mr Cook is going to be reading you the story. I have attached the pdf of the book as well as the link to hear Mr Cook read.

After, I would like you to spend time reading your own book. Do it in your bedroom, in the garden or even in the kitchen sink. So long as you are reading.
