Super Bloom

This year the Queen has been on the throne for 70 years! Therefore, The Tower of London are planting a beautiful Super Bloom river of wild flowers. In Year 1 we are planting our own Super Bloom. We need to learn how to prepare the land, how to plant seeds and most importantly how to look after them. We will be scientists and use observations to watch and record how our flowers grow.

We learnt about the parts of a plant and labelled these:

We learnt about what plants need to grow, so we could look after our plants. We also took part in a cress science experiment to see where the cress grew best. Would it be the freezer, cupboard, windowsill or with no water?

We let our cress grow and then observed each one. We decided that the cress needed light, space, water and to be in a good temperature.

Our outcome: Here we are planting and looking after our wonderful wild flower garden!

We will continue to look after, observe and record the growth of our wild flower garden.
