The Colour Monster

We worked on our emotional intelligence and feeling recognition thanks to the story 'The colour monster' by Anna Llenas. Happy, angry, scared... all the feelings were linked with different colours and we had the chance to think about some situations that make us feel happy, or scared or sad. We made lovely pictures of them and practise our facial expression and feeling recognition.

We really enjoyed playing with the monster puppets and were able to link them with our emotions during the day. During our morning assembly, we all had a turn at telling how we felt and why.

Also, some of us were able to come up with strategies to calm down when we are angry or to overcome our fears.

Apart from feeling recognition, we play with primary colours, exploring what happened if we mix them together and learning what new colours we can make. We used paint, playdough, sand, coloured water, coloured shaving foam... Lots of different media and materials to explore the changes!

And all that without forgetting our name writing practise and our counting skills!
