Today you are going to carry on researching parts of a plant. Please research the following parts of a plant using your research skills and make notes either hand-written or on the computer (word or powerpoint) about what these parts are, where they are and their functions (purpose).

- Stem

- Roots

- Leaves

- Petals

You can use these websites to help you: (the top part talks about the petals)

If you would like to research other parts of a plant then you may!

Begin to think about how these parts link together. Also, what do they all do that is similar/different?

LO: To understand how to plan my poster.

SC1: I can recall the features of a poster.

SC2: I can use my knowledge of features to plan my poster.

SC3: I can reflect on my learning.

Today we are looking at planning our poster. Please watch the following video which recaps what we did yesterday and explains todays’ tasks.

Please watch this video if you would like a step-by-step guide of how to write your plan:

The steps are as follows:

1) Plan your title and say why it is effective.

2) Plan your image and say why it is effective.

3) Plan your subheadings and say why it is effective.

A little easier if…

You follow the video steps.

A little harder if…

You think more about the effect on the reader and answer the extension.

Justify whether the following would be effective within your poster and why/why not?

- Rhetorical questions

- Rule of three

- Similes

Remember a poster is to provide information in an engaging/eye-catching way/

How is this learning going to impact you in later life?

What are some barriers you have faced and how have you over come them?
