Please see below and left for the timetable and resources you need for today. Don't forget to watch the tutorial below before you start your writing. 

Please send me your work once it is completed so I can read it and offer feedback. I'm looking forward to seeing it, especially your writing.

Learning

Exercise-Please do the live online Joe Wicks workout (on you-tube) or an exercise of your choice.

9:30-10:30

Challenge 6: How does your garden grow?

L.O: I can use a range of sources (show: applying)

Success criteria:

  1. I can select relevant information from a range of websites
  2. I can make notes in my own words
  3. I can explain to others what I have learned

 

Task: To make notes in your own words on plants as tomorrow you are going to create a fact file or PowerPoint on what you have learnt. You can use the video clips provided or feel free to use your own websites and resources too. Choose what you would like to find out more about.

Things you could research:

  1. Photosynthesis in more detail (we looked at this on Monday afternoon)
  2. The life cycle of plants
  3. How plants can survive in extreme conditions
  4. How to grow your own vegetables

        Success criteria:

  1. I can identify the audience and purpose of the writing
  2. I can show different persuasive writing techniques
  3. I can use evidence to support my arguments

 

Read the text Jack and the Beanstalk pages 7-10 (on the webpage) or listen to the same part of the story read by Miss Stuart.

Questions:

 

Task: To write a persuasive letter to the police persuading them that Jack should be punished for his actions in the story. Aim for a page of quality writing.

Please look at the detailed checklist on the webpage and the tutorial to help you with this task.

 

At the end of your writing please write an evaluative comment linked to the success criteria-like you do in class.

If you haven’t already and you are able to please plant what it is you want to grow.

Music: Have a look at the music section on the school website and keep learning the songs for the whole school concert. A new song will be uploaded each Thursday.

Story time

Listen to and enjoy the story ‘The House with Chicken Legs’ by Sophie Anderson. Each day Mrs Wooliscroft and I will take it in turns to read a chapter of the book to you.
