  1. Can you summarise the story so far in no more than 3 sentences. Remember to only put in the plot. Think about what has happened and what is description. 

  2.  On page 56, what do you think scudded means? Can you use the text to support your answer? 

  3. What do you think Anne is feeling when she talks about never hearing a storm like this before on page 59? Justify your answer.

  4. On page 61, when Julian goes out into the storm, what kind of atmosphere do you think the author is trying to create? WHy do you think this? 

  5. At the top of page 63, how can you tell that the children were eager to see what Julian had found? Find and retrieve the phrase that tells you this. 

  6. Can you predict what will happen in the next part of the story? Use what you have read so far to help with your prediction.

For the rest of the week we are going to be recapping speech and how to put it in effectively within our writing. I have found a video to help you punctuate your speech properly. As well as a check list to help you when you are putting speech in your writing



I would like you to continue the story using speech. What do you think is going to happen? Can you make it as interesting as possible, whilst using speech. 

I have done for you a guided write and a checklist to help you.

I haven't created a tutorial for today's challenge. Just follow your recipe and take some photos of the process. I've attached some photos of my meal cooking process. Remember to wash your hands properly before you start and to tie back your hair if it is long for hygiene reasons. If you are cutting anything make sure that an adult is supervising you at all times.

Exercise – e.g. mindfulness yoga, fresh air in the garden, run up and down the stairs seeing if you can get faster every time!


We are continuing on with our class reader in the afternoons.I have attached the pdf of the book as well as the link to hear Mr Cook read. 




After, I would like you to spend time reading your own book. Do it in your bedroom, in the garden or even in the kitchen sink. So long as you are reading.
