How are you today?

it is great to see the brilliant work you have sent so far this week-please keep it coming every day so I can give feedback. I am looking for some amazing pieces to put on our class celebration page. Remember to aim high in your presentation, quality and quantity like you do in class. Keep going-you can do it!

Arithmetic

L.O: To use and apply my knowledge of arithmetic (show: applying)

Success criteria:

  1. I can understand which efficient strategies to use
  2. I can apply my knowledge of efficient strategies
  3. I can explain how to use efficient strategies

 

Tasks:

1. Please complete the arithmetic questions-choose challenge 1 or challenge 2

We have covered all these types of questions in class.

The answers are provided on a separate sheet so you can self-mark once you have completed your questions. Please let me know how you have done.

Maths-ratio

L.O: To understand how to divide in a given ratio (know: understanding)

Success criteria:

  1. I understand how to find missing values by using multiplication and division facts
  2. I understand that once I have found the value of one part I can then

find the value of other parts

    3. I understand how to explain how to divide in a given ratio

 

Tasks:

  • Watch the tutorial on how to divide in a given ratio
  • Look at the two examples below in the attachments for a visual representation. (Example of diving in a given ratio part 1 and dividing in a given ratio example 2.) 
  • Complete challenge 1 or challenge 2
  • Write an evaluative comment linked to the success criteria

Today you are going to use ARMS (add, remove, move and substitute) to improve and edit your fantastic original Just So stories.

Tasks

  • Watch the tutorial on using ARMS to improve writing.
  • Read the checklist to support you
  • Use ARMS in your writing-decide which part/s of your story you want to change
  • Publish/type your complete story-so that we can use in our Federation E-Book
  • Write an evaluative comment linked to the success criteria

When doing this task remember to:

  • Think about what it is important for your audience to know.
  • Look at the example on the website to help you
  • Use headings, sub-headings, rhetorical questions
  • Use diagrams to illustrate your points
