Exercise-Please do the live online Joe Wicks workout (on you-tube) or an exercise of your choice.

      Success criteria

  1. I can set the scene
  2. I can show the language the characters would use
  3. I can use stage directions accurately

 

Task to write the script for your puppet show. Aim for at least a page of quality writing. Use your plan from yesterday to help you.

Consider:

How many characters you will have-don’t have too many because it will be difficult for you to perform

How to keep the audience engaged in your story

Make sure something happens in your script/story

 

 

Write your evaluative comment linked the success criteria

10:50-12:15

L.O: I can decide on my design for my puppets

Success criteria:

  1. I can use and develop my initial ideas
  2. I can select the idea I like best
  3. I can annotate my design

 

Task: To plan the design for your puppets, once you are happy with your design please annotate it and explain how they will work.

Consider:

What your puppets need to look like so they fit with the script you have written

What material/resources you have to make them from

How they will move

 

Write your evaluative comment linked to the success criteria.

Success criteria:

  1. I can work from my design
  2. I can refine my puppets to improve on my design
  3. I can evaluate my design

 

Make your puppets, use your design plan from earlier to help you. Consider how you can make it the best product/puppet you can. (Article 6)

Once you have made your puppet, please evaluate it-what went well and what changes you would make and why.

Story time

Listen to and enjoy the story ‘The House with Chicken Legs’ by Sophie Anderson read by Mrs Woolliscroft, the Year 5/6 teacher at Four Elms School and myself. Each day we will take it in turns to read a chapter of the book to you.

 

The story is also available on the tab on the left.
