LO: To be able to write a story
SC1: I can use the senses to add description
SC2: I can use proper punctuation
SC3: I can use fronted adverbials in my story

For the end of the week we are going to write a story. The only thing I would like you to focus on is using the 5 senses and fronted adverbial. Both are literary devices the children have learned at school to aid description. They should remember how to use them, but if not I have found a couple of videos to help explain the concept again.

Fronted adverbials:

The 5 senses:

For the inspiration for the story, it can be whatever you like. You can make a story up, or if you struggle to do this, please look at the website below. It has many pictures to help inspire a story.

I have included attached below a couple of word mats to help you with these concepts. Good luck and I look forward to reading your stories.

Reflective task

LO: To reflect on this week’s challenge

Find the link to my tutorial as to how to reflect on this week’s task. The three success criteria are contained in the video. Remember, finished videos to your class teacher by today.

2:00- 2:30

Exercise – e.g. mindfulness yoga, fresh air in the garden, run up and down the stairs seeing if you can get faster every time!

We are continuing on with our class reader in the afternoons. However, this week Mr Cook is going to be reading you the story. I have attached the pdf of the book as well as the link to hear Mr Kyte read.

After, I would like you to spend time reading your own book. Do it in your bedroom, in the garden or even in the kitchen sink. So long as you are reading.
