Exercise – Watch the following videos to wake up and get ready for the day.



9:20 – 10:00

Guided Reading – See attachment below. Read the story and answer questions on the text.

Please watch videos by following the links below. After you have watched the videos, follow the instructions afterwards to find a book suitable to your level.

Set 1 sounds (red, green and purple groups)



Set 2 sounds (pink and orange groups)



Set 3 sounds (yellow, blue and grey sounds)




Oxford Owl have made available the e-books relevant to your RWI level. You will need to create a login first so please visit:

Once you have confirmed your login on your email it will direct you to a page that says “Find a book” Please click on that and then follow the instructions below.

Click on e-books and find your relevant book colour to read. (the colour of your home reading books) Please read the same book 3 times.

1st day – read to decode the words and make sure you can read every word in the book.

2nd day – read the book again and try to read with fluency and expression.

3rd day – read the book again and answer the comprehension questions at the end.

SC1: I can state what an apostrophe is.

SC2: I can state when to use a plural possessive apostrophe.

SC3: I can begin to use them in my writing.


Today we are going to be looking at the plural possessive apostrophe. Please see the attached youtube video for today’s lesson:





An outline of the tasks is as follow:


Mild: Add in the plural possessive apostrophe accurately.

Hot: Write your own phrases with the plural possessive apostrophe.

Please then reflect on how you have shown resilience and how this work is allowing you to achieve your outcome.

This piece of work highlights the difference between being a friend to yourself and bragging.

Please read the page attached and answer question 2 which requires you to write down 3 compliments about yourself.

Look at question 3 and role play it with a member of your family. What do you think the other person is thinking?

Please keep your answers on a note pad and we will stick them into your books once you return to school.

SC1: I can state what armour means.

SC2: I can explain why the soldiers needed armour and equipment.

SC3: I can label the roman soldier.


Today we are going to be looking at the armour and equipment that the Roman Soldiers wore.


Activity 1:

What does armour mean?

Why did the Roman’s need protection and battle equipment?


Activity 2:

We would like you to research the type of armour and equipment that the Roman soldier’s wore when they went to battle. Please see the attached Roman soldier with blank labels of his armour. If you have a printer, you could print this sheet and label the armour. If you do not have a printer, you could write a list and draw a picture of the armour that the Roman soldiers’ wore.


Even better if: You explain why they used/had each piece of armour/equipment.
