Maths - Scaled Bar Charts:
LO: To understand the use of scaled bar charts
SC1) I can list the features of scaled bar charts SC2) I can interpret data from a scaled bar chart SC3) I can display information using a scaled bar chart
Today we will be continuing our work on Bar charts, and we will be looking at Scaled Bar charts. Please watch the video below:
Task 1: Answer the questions on the PowerPoint attached below. If you have trouble accessing this, I have also attached this as a PDF File. Task 2: Create your own scaled bar chart. Maybe you could go for a walk with your family and count something along your walk. This is similar to our bar chart yesterday, however, your numbers at the side will be going up in more than ones. A little easier: If you are finding the scaled bar charts too tricky, stick with regular bar charts. I would still like you to create a bar chart – try creating one different from yesterday. Again, try to get outside for a walk if it isn’t horrible weather.
Remember: Title Numbers up the side Item you are counting along the bottom Subheading for numbers and items Use a Ruler! |

LO: To understand how to use my plan to inform my writing. SC1: I can check over my plan. SC2: I can write my first paragraph from my plan.
Today, we are going to be writing out first paragraph, following on from yesterday where we wrote up our introduction draft paragraph. Please see the video which explains how to do this.
A little easier if… You use the checklist and writing frame to help you.
A little harder if… Use a range of prepositions, fronted adverbials and both possessive apostrophes.
