10.30 - 11.00 Break

Do something to get some energy out of the children for example Joe Wicks is releasing a work out video every Monday - Friday. Then spend the last 5 minutes getting them calm again. For example is there something they could tidy or draw or sit and read for 5 minutes. It is important they are calm again.

11.00 - 12.00 - Maths

LO: To be able to understand hundreths

Watch this video to recap tenths from yesterday and move forward into hundredths

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRoepFHelKg

Have a look at this video from the White Rose titled  recognise tenths and hundredths.

Questions have been put up for you. As well as a challenge to extend your learning.

12.00 - 1.15 Lunch

1.15 - 2.00 - Science

LO: To be able to understand how different volume of sound travels.

You are going to be looking at the relationship between sound as vibrations and volume. You are going to need a table, some rice/pasta and your book to record your results (see below for idea).

How hard did you hit the table

How much did the food move

Gentle tap

As hard as I could

For this lesson we are going to do an experiment. I would like you sit down and your table and put some rice/pasta in the place next to you.

First I would like you to gently tap the table. What do you notice happens to the pasta/rice

Then hit the table a little harder. Again, what do you notice happens to the pasta/rice

Continue to hit the table harder and harder, DO NOT BREAK THE TABLE your parents would not be happy. Once you have finished doing this and recording it in your table, below are some questions to answer.

Given that sound is vibration, why did the food move more when you hit it harder?

What does this tell us about the volume of sound and the vibrations?
(Think about the volume of sound from hitting the table as well as the amount the food moved.)

2.00 - 2.15 Break

2.15 - 3.00

Mrs Mitchell and Miss Fermor have uploaded a challenge that they would like you to think about this week. Can you please watch the video, it is linked here, and create a mind map of what it could be. I have uploaded an exemplar I created for to see what I expect. We will be looking more into this over the course of the week.

I could not get my laptop to focus on the image, I have tried several times of the last couple of days, but it wont focus. I apologise for the quality I hope you get the idea of what I would like.
