Guided Reading – Please watch the video below, then read the story and answer questions on the text.

Once you have confirmed your login on your email it will direct you to a page that says “Find a book” Please click on that and then follow the instructions below.

Click on e-books and find your relevant book colour to read. (the colour of your home reading books) Please read the same book 3 times.

1st day – read to decode the words and make sure you can read every word in the book.

2nd day – read the book again and try to read with fluency and expression.

3rd day – read the book again and answer the comprehension questions at the end.

Today we are going to be looking at alliteration. This is a device used within poetry.

Main activity (as explained in video):

Mild: Finish the phrases about things that make us happy, using alliteration.

Hot: Think of something that makes you happy and describe it using alliteration.

SC1: I can explain what tearing means.

SC2: I can begin to think about why tearing is effective.

Sc3: I can use large tearing of paper to create an image.


Today we are doing our second lesson on tearing of paper to create an image. We are looking at tearing bigger pieces of paper to create a picture today. Please see the video which explains how to do this.






Main activity:

Tear large coloured pieces of paper to create a picture.


A little easier if…

You copy the house I made using tearing of bigger pieces of paper.


A little harder if…

You make your own picture of your happy home using tearing of bigger pieces of paper.
