Guided Reading – Please watch the video below, then read the story and answer questions on the text.


LO: To retrieve and use information from a text

Please watch videos by following the links below. After you have watched the videos, follow the instructions afterwards to find a book suitable to your level.

Oxford Owl have made available the e-books relevant to your RWI level. You will need to create a login first so please visit:

Once you have confirmed your login on your email it will direct you to a page that says “Find a book” Please click on that and then follow the instructions below.

Click on e-books and find your relevant book colour to read. (the colour of your home reading books) Please read the same book 3 times.

1st day – read to decode the words and make sure you can read every word in the book.

2nd day – read the book again and try to read with fluency and expression.

3rd day – read the book again and answer the comprehension questions at the end.

LO: To show my understanding of how to plan my poem.

SC1: I can choose appropriate alliteration.

SC2: I can choose appropriate rhyming pairs.


Today we are planning our poem. I have made a step-by-step video showing you how to do this, with me doing the plan. Please see the video below- you will need to pause it at specific times (when I say within the video.)







A breakdown is as follows:


Task 1: Pause video at 2:40 and write your happy place.

Task 2: Pause video at 3:13 and write your type of poem.

Task 3: Listen then pause video at 5:10 and write examples of alliteration.

Task 4: Listen then pause video at 7:03 and write examples of rhyming pairs.

Task 5: Listen then pause video at 10:30  and write examples of adjectives.

Task 6: Listen then at the end reflect on the key questions.


A little easier if…

You use the completed example entitled ‘example completed plan’ to give you ideas.


A little harder if…

You use adventurous adjectives, sentences with alliteration and a variety of adventurous rhyming pairs.

Maths - Complex Arrays 2 (consolidation)

Hot: When adding the arrays together, questions will include regrouping


A little easier: If you are finding it difficult, please continue practising the way we learnt last week (e.g. 2 x 14 – making 10 columns out of 1s instead of 1 out of 10s). You will find “a little easier” questions in the same attachment.
