Our Christian Values

Independence

At Seal children are encouraged to take ownership of their learning. Each child is unique and matters to God.

Jesus showed independence when calling upon his disciples. We each have a job to do and God is with us to strengthen us as we do it.

Just like the mustard tree, having its own life and growing as it wants to grow - we encourage the children to take ownership of their growth.

Respect

We respect the rights of every child, no matter who they are or where they live. We believe that respect should be shown to everyone as we are all a gift from God.

Jesus welcomes children as the Kingdom of God also belongs to children (Mark 10:13-16).

Just like the mustard tree welcoming birds of different kinds into its branches, we welcome all children into our school and ensure opportunities for all to flourish; through treating all with dignity and respect.

Compassion

Relationships within our Seal community show we all care for one another and are there to support each other during times of need.

The parable of the Good Samaritan teaches us to show compassion to those in need.

Growing plants require gentleness and care. Just like a growing mustard tree, our pupils are taught the importance of showing compassion to those who are suffering or experiencing misfortune enabling everyone's ability to flourish.

Aspiration

Children are encouraged to aspire to be the best they can be and to make the world around them a better place.

When David defeated Goliath, his faith in God enabled him to achieve something great.

Who would have thought such a big mustard tree could grow from such a tiny mustard seed? We can achieve more than we think, and we are reminded to have faith in our ability to grow.

Community

Our Seal community is inclusive and welcoming. We work together to achieve great things for our school and local community.

Jesus washing his disciples feet teaches us to have love for one another (John 13:1-20)

Within the mustard tree, each bird must make space for the others. At Seal, we ensure that we support each other within our school community; working together to grow and flourish.

Perseverance

We understand that sometimes we find things challenging, but at Seal, knowing God is with us, we are encouraged to keep going and never give up.

Moses leading people across the wilderness required perseverance.

Just like a mustard seed requires time to grow into a remarkable tree, we encourage children to show patience and persevere to achieve great things. Growth takes time.
