Watch the video of me reading the text.

Hiccup’s plan was revealed in this part of the text. His plan includes confusing the dragons with feather bombs. Create an image, perhaps with a brief written description, to show how the dragons will react to the feather bombs.

Read today’s text.

Answer the following questions.

1. Explain how Hiccup made the feather bombs.

2. How do you think the dragons will react to the feather bombs?

3. Based on everything you have read so far, do you think the boys will be victorious?

Read today’s text.

Answer the following questions. Use evidence from the text in each response.

1. Pick a prediction you made yesterday. Based on what you’ve read today, do you still think this?

2. Explain how Hiccup made the feather bombs.

3. How do you think the dragons will react to the feather bombs?

Maths

LO: To be able to know how to find the area
SC1: I can identify what area means
SC2: I can understand how to find the area
SC3: I can use my knowledge of times tables to help me

For this lesson we are going that little bit further with our understanding of area. Last lesson we looked at calculating the area by counting the squares the shape. However, what would happen if there were no squares inside the shape to use.

Have a look at the video to introduce what today's lesson is about.

Can you draw a shape with the area of:

  • 16cm₂

  • 35cm₂

  • 42cm₂

  • 20cm₂

  • 25cm₂

Have a look at the worked example to help you with your Maths if you need it.

Experience

LO: To be able to know how to plan an investigation
SC1: I can identify how vibration affects sound waves
SC2: I can identify how volume affects sound waves
SC3: I can understand how pitch affects sound waves

Over the next couple of lesson, we are going to run a test of our own. You are going to be designing it. You are going to be building it, and ou are going to be running the test.

Today we are looking at soundproofing, I would like you to design your own set of headphones that you could use to wear to a concert or somewhere really loud to protect your ears.

Have a look at the video I have uploaded to introduce and help you with this test.

Things to remember

  • Sound is made by vibration so how do we stop that…

  • Have a look round your house for items that you could use. DO NOT use something your adults would not want you to. If in doubt ask...

I would like to see the design of your headphones for tomorrow's test. It should be labelled with the material you are using to help you. Have a look at my example below to help you.

2:30- 2:40
