There are 2 options for guided reading. You can read a section from our new book and answer the questions that I will post below. I have recorded a video of me reading the text and asking the questions but please only use this if you are unable to read the text independently. or If you find the task above too challenging, I have found some books to read. Have a look through, if you would like help with a level or a book to read a day then please email me and I will help. Guided Reading LO: To be able to understand how to justify inferences. SC1: I can identify what inference is. SC2: I can make inferences based on the information I have read. SC3: I can justify my inferences with evidence from the text.

English LO: To be able to use appropriate vocabulary to add description. (SHOW) SC1: I can effectively describe appearance. SC2: I can effectively describe actions. SC3: I can use dialogue to describe a character. Today, we use our completed plan, from yesterday, to write our character description. You will need to familiarise yourself with the expert piece and the checklist you created before you start writing. Roald Dahl tends to keep information about appearance, dialogue and actions in separate paragraphs, you’re welcome to do this as you write. You’ll need to consider your use of imagery throughout the writing process and use the word banks attached to today’s page to help you too (fronted adverbials and ambitious vocabulary). By the end of the lesson you should’ve: Used your plan to write your character description, Checked your writing against your checklist. |

Maths LO: To be able to show my understanding of multiplication For today’s lesson we are still practising our formal written methods, however I will be focussing on the reasoning questions, as I expect all of you to be able to attempt them today. So there are questions for the formal written methods below and worked examples to help with your chosen formal written method.
Here is the video input for today focussing on the reasoning questions. |

Experience LO: To be able to know about the Anglo-Saxons So we have had a look at who the vikings were and how they lived, we are going to be moving on to looking at the Anglo-Saxons and how they related to the Vikings. So the same with the Vikings we are going to start with figuring out who the Anglo-Saxons were? I would like you to do some research on the Anglo-Saxons, try to find out who they were, where they came from and how they lived. See what you can find from these websites: Who were the Anglo-Saxons? - BBC Bitesize The arrival of the Anglo-Saxons (thenational.academy) (This one is a bit longer) You can do this anyway that you feel would be most helpful. If that is bullet points or a mind map then it is up to you. I have included a model to help you see not only how to set it out, but the amount of information I would like you to find. |
