Please rewatch yesterday’s tutorial if you want to revisit the text, or print off the pages to read at home, which are attached to the bottom of the page. Here are the questions for you to find out the answers to. Answers are found in the text!

  1. What do you find beneath a volcano?

  2. Which 3 materials make up an eruption?

  3. Name the three different types of volcano that can form.

  4. What happens when tectonic plates move apart?

  5. What is a ‘Batholith’?

9:50-10:30

English/Challenge

LO: To write a speech

SC1: I can use my plan to write a speech

SC2: I can punctuate sentences correctly

SC3: I can rehearse my speech out loud.

Here is today’s tutorial. I have attached my example speech as well for you to refer to- not to copy! Keep your speech fairly short- three succinct paragraphs and a summary conclusion at the end. When you have finished writing, read it out loud to yourself a few times- think about where to pause, and how to change the tone of your voice. Try timing yourself to make sure your speech isn’t too long. If it is, can you edit it in some way?

LO: To be able to calculate whole amounts using known fractions and solve problems

SC1: I can use bar models to help with my understanding

SC2: I can find whole amounts based on known fractions

SC3: I can solve fraction problems

Here is today’s tutorial

Today’s lesson is quite hard- you’ll need to draw bar models and think really carefully about the questions. I have attached a powerpoint at the bottom that will take you through the three levels of challenge, as well as the questions for you to try with the answers. Remember to look at the submarine symbol in the corner… the closer to the ocean floor the harder the challenge!

LO: To understand the idea of the Kingdom of God

SC1: I can consider who belongs to God’s kingdom

SC2: I can reflect on previous knowledge

SC3: I can make predictions

For the next few weeks we will be exploring the concept of the ‘Kingdom of god’. Think about the following questions.

  1. Who belongs to God’s kingdom? Why do you think this?

  2. Is God’s kingdom a place or something else?

  3. How could someone become a part of it?

  4. At Easter, God’s son died on ‘Good Friday’. Why do Christians call it ‘Good Friday’ when he died?

2:00- 2:30

Exercise – e.g. mindfulness yoga, fresh air in the garden, run up and down the stairs seeing if you can get faster every time!
