Guided Reading – Please watch the video below, then read the story and answer questions on the text.

Oxford Owl have made available the e-books relevant to your RWI level. You will need to create a login first so please visit:

Once you have confirmed your login on your email it will direct you to a page that says “Find a book” Please click on that and then follow the instructions below.

Click on e-books and find your relevant book colour to read. (the colour of your home reading books) Please read the same book 3 times.

1st day – read to decode the words and make sure you can read every word in the book.

2nd day – read the book again and try to read with fluency and expression.

3rd day – read the book again and answer the comprehension questions at the end.

Maths – Multiplication

LO: To understand how to use arrays when multiplying 1-digit and 2-digit numbers (concrete)

SC1) I can explain the layout of an array

SC2) I can list the steps when creating an array

SC3) I can use the correct layout when creating an array


Today we will be using our arrays in order to begin learning how to multiply a 1-digit number by a 2-digit number. Please watch the video below:





Task: Open the questions at the bottom of this page to answer, creating your very own concrete arrays. You will need to find small objects in your house to create these arrays.

LO: To know the features of acrostic poems.

SC1: I can state what an acrostic poem is.

SC2: I can recall the features of acrostic poems.

SC3: I can reflect on my learning.


Today we are looking at the features of acrostic poems.

Main activity:

Write the rest of the acrostic poem for SUMMER.

A little easier if:

You add one word on.


A little harder if:

You add sentences using alliteration and a simile.




LO: To show my understanding both tearing techniques.

SC1: I can say the two types of tearing for art.

SC2: I can use these tearing skills to create an image.


Today we are looking at both types of tearing to create an image.

Main activity:

Use tearing of paper to copy my image OR create an image of your own of something that makes you happy.


You will need:

- Paper (plain or lined)

- Colouring pencils OR coloured paper

- Glue
