LO: To be able to know the features needed to write persuasively (KNOW)

SC1: I can identify and use powerful imperative verbs.

SC2: I can recognise and use alliteration.

SC3: I can make language choices which appeal to the target audience.

Today, we learn how alliteration and imperative verbs can be used effectively

in persuasive writing. We will then use our new knowledge to add more detail

to our plan started yesterday.

The tutorial for the lesson is below and the PowerPoint will tell you when

to watch it.

Break time/snack time

Guided Reading

There are 2 options for guided reading, you can continue with the book and

the questions that I will post below or I have found some books to read if you

find this too hard. Have a look through, if you would like help with a level or a

book to read a day then please email me and I will help.

LO: To be able to retrieve key information.

SC1: I can scan the text to find information.

SC2: I can skim-read.

SC3: I can retrieve relevant information from a text.

1.      What time is the ugliest baby contest?

2.      What will happen at the axe display and what time is this event?

3.      What will happen at 2.00 on Thorsday Thursday?

4.      What was the weather like on Thorsday Thursday?

5.      What did Hiccup eat for lunch?

11:45 – 12:45

LO: To be able to show my understanding of division and multiplication
SC1: I can understand how to multiply
SC2: I can understand how to divide
SC3: I can identify how to show scaling

For this lesson we are going to be using our multiplication and division skills in

a real setting. This is something that you will use and your adults will use during

the day.

For example, I used a recipe for pizza dough that I have to make larger because

the children in my house inhale pizza. So I had to make the recipe larger...

Have a look at the video I have uploaded to explain through the lesson and I have also attached a worked example to help you if you need it.

12:45- 1:45

1:45 - 2:30

LO: To be able to show my understanding of sound
SC1: I can show what I know about sound
SC2: I can ask questions about sound
SC3: I can ask questions about how to work scientifically

For this lesson, we are going to be thinking about the concepts we will be

learning about in the next couple of weeks. Our new experience is going to be

all about sound. We will explore what sound is and how it behaves though as

many science experiments as possible.

We will not only be concentrating on the science of sound, but also how to work

as scientists and run experiments properly.

For now though, I would like you to think about the experience and note down

everything that you remember and questions you have about sound and working scientifically.

I have included a modelled example below to help you structure your mind map,

and what I would like you to include.

2:30- 2:40
