Please read the pages attached below and then answer the questions below. Make sure that you justify your answers using the conjunctions because.

Questions

  1. What can you infer that Draco would be feeling as he walked past the Gryffindor table? 

  2. How do you know that Harry and Ron were upset by what Draco did? WHich part of the text tells you? 

  3. From the context of ‘sloped’ what do you think it means? Use the text to help you to figure it out? 

  4. How would the Gryffindors have felt going to their first flying lesson? What part of the text tells you this? 

  5. Can you infer Harry’s thoughts and feelings when his was one of the only brooms that flew up? Why would you think this? 

  6. What can you infer Draco would have felt when Madame Hooch told him he was wrong? WHy do you think this? 

  7. Why do you think that Harry told Malfoy to give it back to him quietly? 

  8. Which part of the text tells you that Harry was angry? 

  9. What would Professor McGonagall think when she saw Harry flying? What part of the text tells you this?

For this lesson I would like you to rewrite the story that you have read today but pretend you are Draco Malfoy? What would he have thought about the events? How would his experience have been different to Harrys? 

All of the events are there for you in the text. If you are unsure of what to write then look at the text. Then you need to think and imagine you are Draco Malfoy? What would he have thought about that event?
