Guided Reading

LO: To develop inference skills

SC1: To read unfamiliar texts

SC2: To skim and scan for information

SC3: To solve inference skills by digging deeper into a text

Here is the link to today’s guided reading

LO: To be able to plan my script
SC1: I can think about the story I want to happen
SC2: I can identify the characters I would need
SC3: I can consider my audience

For this lesson I would like you to plan your story. There are many things that you are going to have to think about.

Characters (The design for your puppets)

  • What characters are there?

  • What do they look like?

The Setting (What your backdrop is going to look like, if you have one)

  • Where is it set?

The story (What is going to happen. It will be difficult to have too many characters or settings as it would take scene changes and more characters to design and make)

  • What happens in the beginning?

  • What is the problem?

  • What is the resolution?

Break time/snack time

Make sure you complete 2 studio sessions and 2 sound checks before going on the garage. Feel free to challenge me!

Arithmetic starter

LO: To continue to understand equivalent fractions

SC1: I recognise equivalent fractions

SC2: I know the rule for finding equivalent fractions

SC3: I can complete fraction chains of equivalent fractions

Please find attached the tutorial for today’s maths lesson. I’ve also attached photos of the examples and the challenges follow.

Reasoning challenges

Challenge 8-

L.O: I understand how there are different types of puppets and how they workI
SC1: I can share what I already know about puppets
SC2: I can understand how different puppets move
SC3: I can consider the type of puppets I would like for my show

1)      Research different types of puppets. Use a search engine of your choice things to search - types of puppets, puppets I can make at home.

2)      Which type of puppet do you think will be best for your puppet show? Explain the advantages and disadvantages of different types of puppet for your show

3)      I would like you to design your puppet for your show. Use the ideas you came up with in your plan to help you.

Exercise – e.g. mindfulness yoga, fresh air in the garden, run up and down the stairs seeing if you can get faster every time!

Story time!
