LO: To be able to convert units of time
SC1: I can identify different units of time
SC2: I can understand the relationships between units of time
SC3: I can use multiplication and division to help me.

For this lesson we are going to have an investigation using units of time. The units of time we are going to use are:
-Seconds
- Minutes
- Hour
- Day
-Week
-Month
-Year

I have uploaded a picture to help you convert between the units of time.

This may seem confusing but I have uploaded a video to help you work through the questions.

For the questions you are going to have to have a calculator, if you do not have one then you can use a phone to help. There are no specific chilli challenges, the questions get harder as you go through,  I have also attached an extension as well. Some of the questions may take some research...

  1. How many minutes in a day

  2. How many hours in a week

  3. How many seconds in a week

  4. How many hours in a year

  5. How many months in Queen Victoria’s reign

  6. How many seconds in the time it takes the earth to orbit the sun

  7. How many months in 1 million seconds

  8. How many minutes in your parent’s age

  9. How many seconds in 100 months

  10. How many minutes in 1.5 years

  11. How many seconds did you sleep for last night

  12. How many years does it take you to run to the end of your garden and back.

We are continuing on with our class reader in the afternoons. However, this week Mr Cook is going to be reading you the story. I have attached the pdf of the book as well as the link to hear Mr Kyte read.

After, I would like you to spend time reading your own book. Do it in your bedroom, in the garden or even in the kitchen sink. So long as you are reading.
