Overview of the week

Guided Reading

For Guided Reading this week we finish reading How to Train Your Dragon. While reading we'll be revisiting the comprehension skills we looked at last term, inference, retrieval and prediction. Towards the end of the week we will begin our new novel The Firework Marker's Daughter.

English

For English, we begin with our launch page where we will identify the features of narrative writing by looking at an expert piece, an extract from our new class novel. We will then begin to unpick the skills needed to plan and write our own ending to The Firework Maker's Daughter.

Maths

For Maths this week we are going to be starting a new series of lessons, looking at shapes. For this week though we are going to be focussing on the different types of angles you can find within shape.
