Forest School is on a Tuesday afternoon with Mrs Vosper. Children should bring in their Forest School kit every Tuesday. 

PE is on a Thursday afternoon. Children should come into school dressed in their PE kit. 


What are we learning this term?

Main Experiences

This is the greatest storm - In this English, Geography and History experience, the children will be learning all about the great storm of 1987 and writing a speech, which will be performed at The Vine Cricket Ground at the end of March. When I was seven - In this book week experience, the children will be learning about the poem 'When I was Six' and writing their own versions to perform at the Seal Primary Poetry Slam. Please see below for the launch page for further informatiob. 

Crack the code- In this ICT experience, the children will be using Scratch software to create a Little Red Riding Hood themed game for the Year 1 children to play. Please see below for the launch page for further information.

 

Discrete Experiences

English - We will be focussing on the story of Little Red Riding Hood, in order to use this for the theme of our Scratch games. 

In Reading - pupils will either continue with their Read, Write, Inc. phonics sessions. Children in guided reading are focussing on the story of the Owl who was afraid of the dark where they will be focussing on the skills of vocabulary. 

Maths- Pupils will learn about multiplication and division this term. Focusing on  the 2, 5 and 10 times table, understanding repeated addition, arrays and sharing. 

PE - This term our PE focus is netball. We will be learning how to throw, catch, defend and attack.

RE - In RE we are focusing on 'Salvation', understanding the sacrifice Jesus made and why Christians think of Easter as such an important time. 

Wellbeing - This term's wellbeing focus is focused on understanding feelings. Focusing on the alibility to describe a wider range of feelings and what children can do if they feel them.
